Today in BD Class (13/11/15)

It was a bit strange today because we had Mr D. teaching us on a Friday. But we had a great day. We did some more work on positional language. We built castles and towers, then placed a character on it. We took a photo on the iPads then used the Halftone app to add our words. You can check them out here;
For Discovery Time, we did some construction, dominos, games and messy play. We tried shaving cream, gloop and spaghetti. Some of us got a bit messy!
Messy girls!
Harry, Caleb and Bagas getting their construction on.
 Casey was directing the traffic.
Sophie and Liam were thinking hard playing "Headbands."
Some KB Class got REALLY messy!

ICT Open Morning

Last Monday, we had a great time sharing how we use ICT in our class with our parents. We used ChatterPix, Halftone, Numbers League and Slide 100. Here are some of the things we made using Halftone.

We also made some cool little videos using ChatterPix.

Positional Language

Today we were learning about using positional language as part of our writing. First we made a list of all the different positions we can be in. Then we looked at all of the different verbs we could use when we were on the playground. We came up with lots of ideas.
We went on the playground to practise doing these things and describe them. It was great fun!

17/03/15 Today in BD Class

We had a great day with Mrs Berney today. She was teaching us about the marae, the different building and what happens when people are welcomed onto a marae. We watched two little movies about what happens at a marae. We all presented to be the manuhiri (visitors) or the tangata whenua (people from the marae.) We even got to practise doing a hongi. Some of us did a hongi with Bugsy.
This song is called Ko Tōku Marae Tēnei ...it is about the things that happen on a marae. Sing along.
We also watched a story about a little girl who goes to marae with her friend. Watch what happens.
Here we are playing with our puppets and welcoming them onto the marae.

In maths, we are learning about "teen" numbers as well as "ty" numbers. This rap can help us with remembering that a "teen" number is 10, and some extra one.

Kyra was the Star of the Day today.
