Weeks 4 and 5 in BD Class

We have had heaps of fun over the past two weeks in BD Class. We have done some great learning too. There have been lots of people who have got their next "Nights Reading" stickers.
Well done to: Makayla, Caleb and Mason (100 Nights), Holly (125 Nights) and Rebecca, Olivia, Harry and Zoe (150 Nights.) There are a whole lot of the class coming up who will be getting their next nights reading stickers real soon. Watch this space!

We have nearly finished learning all of our consonant blends. The latest ones we have been learning about have been:
Mr D and Mrs Berney have been really impressed with the writing we have been doing in class. It has been great to see everyone using their writing cards, checking their work and writing more ideas. We have also had some great fun doing some interesting language experiences. Last week we touched, smelt and ate jelly. It was great fun. We had a go at doing some descriptive writing.

We had some great fun with the story Pete the Cat and His White Shoes. We had fun singing the song and reading the book. We had a go at writing our own version of the story as well. Here is the author of Pete the Cat reading the story in a live performance.
We brainstormed all of the things that Pete the Cat could have walked through. We came up with some creative ideas.
For Discovery Time we had some great fun doing activities all about fairy tales. We had some great fun building sandcastles in the sand pit and making paper bag puppets.

For PE we have been doing gymnastics. We have been working with Abe from Big Air Gym. Check out what we have been up to.
Last week we had a visit from Madison C's granddad, Jim. He is a crime scene detective and he came to do some fingerprint stuff with the class. He showed us how to take fingerprints and how our fingerprints are all unique. It was really interesting. Oliver and Vincent checked out their fingerprints.
