09/08/10 & 10/08/10 What's Going On in BD Class?

It has been a full-on couple of days in BD Class. Yesterday Mr D was on a course so we had Miss E. Seeing that it was maths week, we had our first Maths Week Challenge. Jarden made a square out of tangram pieces in only 31.9 seconds. WOW! We did our blends for this week. We are learning about "pl" and "sl" blends.

We did some good reading and writing this morning. Then we had some fun in the afternoon making hand puppets. It was really cool.

Today was a crazy day. We had a visitor in our class. Alex has trained to be a teacher so she is spending Tuesday and Thursday mornings with us. We had so much going on. We started the morning by estimating how many balls could fit into Mrs Ryan's little green car. We estimated 118. After that we were in the computer suite playing Maths Week games. Then we went off to the Life Education Caravan.

It was really cool. We were learning about the things that make us and keep us healthy. Then we did reading. After that we went out and watched how many balls fit into Mrs Ryan's car. Mr McManaway managed to fit 213 balls into the car. WOW! We finished the day doing the Maths Week treasure hunt with our buddy class. What a great day!
