30/04/10 What's Going On?

Today was the last day in April. That means we're a third of the way through the year. We had a busy day today...but then again every day is a busy day. We did some power writing this morning and we had a great maths session. We learned the first part of our mihi...ko _____ taku ingoa. Then we started to make some cool koru patterns. We were working so hard that we almost forgot it was 3 o'clock! Have a great weekend everyone.

29/04/10 What's Going On?

We have had a really cool day today in BD Class. We started the day off with maths for a change. Mr D worked with the Oblongs and the Circles. They are learning about "teen" and "ty" numbers and adding tens and ones. We did topic this morning as well. We learned the difference between a country, a continent and a city. We used Google Earth to see the difference. Mr D also put up all the places we come from. It look really cool. We come from lots of different places in the world.

26/04/10 What's Going On?

Today got off to an exciting start because we had a powhiri for Kiokio School. Everyone sung really well. When we got back to class we got some writing done. Everyone seemed to be pretty tired from the weekend and it was a pretty muggy day. We did reading and printing and went to Mrs D's class to see their marble machines. We did lots of singing at Syndicate Assembly. Leo, Emma and Keenan read their moment in time writing at Syndicate Assembly. We finished up the day with the rest of the reading groups.

Today has been another really busy day. We did power writing this morning. Everyone is getting better at it. We did our tunnel writing today. We are learning to write about a moment in time. We played more "Beep" for maths and did great cross-country training. We did three laps of the field ...and no one walked! Have a great weekend!

22/04/10 What's Going On?

We had a great day today. This morning we went for a walk to the tunnel. We had to look and listen carefully. We walked through the tunnel. When we got back to class we brainstormed all the ideas about what we saw, heard and felt. In maths, Mr D taught us how to play "Beep." It was really cool. Taine and Dev were the winners.

21/04/10 What's Going On?

We have had a really busy couple of days in BD Class. Miss Ymker has been taking us. We did some great writing and reading. Miss Ymker said she thought our printing is getting really good. We are learning about the world, continents, countries and cities. We drew pictures and wrote what we thought each was. Mr D thought some of our ideas were pretty funny. We are going to be doing more work on where we come from over the next two days as well.

19/04/10 What's Going On?

It was so good to see everyone at school today. We had a full house! Mr D was really impressed with the way that everyone worked so hard today. We did some really good writing about our holidays. Mr D showed all of the maths groups how to play their maths box games. After syndicate singing we watched a movie clip about the World Cup. It was really exciting.

holly Becketts weekend

I have lost my second tooth. It was by the first tooth. I went to Napier for a holiday and stayed with my Aunty.  We went to the Arataki Honey place and we got some honey in a bear container.  It was clover honey.  I had fun playing mini golf with Dad.  And on Aunty Kerryns Wii i played ten pin bowling. I was good at it.  I went to Alicia's house for a sleep over and my friends came over to my house for a movie day.  Me and my sister played dress up at my Auntys house.

What's Going On?

It is hard to believe that today is the last day of the term. This term has flown by so fast! I am very proud of my class because they are such a grown up bunch of children. Everyone has worked really hard this term and a few people have already achieved some of their goals. I think that is awesome! I hope you all have a great holiday. It would be great if you could write something on the blog during the holidays. It would be pretty cool to see what everyone is doing. Be safe and look after yourselves.
