23/04/12 What's Going on in BD Class?
Welcome back to school everyone! It was so nice to see everyone's smiling faces at school today. We started the day with a powhiri for all of our new children and their families.
We did maths after that. Mr D was amazed with the "Circles" group because they were learning to read and write numbers up to a million!
We did some more Letterland work looking at the long "u" sound. This sound is a little more tricky.

For writing today, we wrote about our holidays. But we tried to make it really exciting by using great Red Hot Chilli words and ideas.
Mr D taught us a cool new song today. It is about what to do if someone is being mean to you. We really like it.

04/04/12 What's Going on in BD Class?
Well, it has been a while since we have posted about the amazing things we have been unto in our class. We have had so many Stars of the Day that we have lost count. The most amazing thing though is that we have been doing some awesome work. Mr D and Mrs Berney are so proud of us!
We have been continuing on with learning about long vowel sounds. So here are the ones we have done over the past couple of weeks.
The great thing is that we have been using all these words in our writing as well as all the other long vowel sounds as well.
We are still doing some amazing writing. We are using Red Hot Chilli words and ideas all the time in our writing. Last week we did some great writing about going down the big yellow slide. Mr D took a video of us going down the slide. We used this as motivation to write.
Then this week we went for a walk in the forest. It was great fun. You can see all the things we saw below. Then we did some more super writing.
