It has been a pretty hectic few days at school with lots of interesting things going on. On Wednesday we did some more really great writing. We were trying to make sure our writing was much more descriptive and interesting.
You can see that we are making really good attempts at sounding out lots of words in our writing. You can see all the people who helped Mr D sound out his words.
On Thursday morning we had a visit from Mana College's Kapa Haka group. They performed for us and then answered some questions we had. It was awesome! There were only about 12 of them but they could sing really loud and really beautifully. We were sitting right up the front when the boys were doing a fierce haka but we weren't scared!
Check out the highlights of the performance below.
On Friday we had a cool day. We did some fun maths with Mrs Berney and Mrs Arrowsmith. School assembly was fun. We were singing Poi E.
On Monday, Oliver was the Star of the Day.
We started of the day with our maths groups. The we got stuck into writing. Mr D shared a story about his weird weekend. See if you can guess what he was doing.
For reading we looked at the blend "br". We came up with heaps of words (including lots of names) that started with that blend.
After lunch we had a special kapa haka practise. We sounded really, really good when we were practising our songs. We finished off the day with printing and then we had a go at throwing the vortex.
