12/03/13-15/03/13 What's Going On in BD Class?

It has been another busy week in BD Class. Mr D has been really impressed with the way everyone has been trying really hard with their writing and reading.
On Tuesday we had some great fun with bubbles. We got to blow bubbles outside and then we watched "The Amazing Bubble Man." It was very, very cool.

Over the next couple of days we did some brainstorming and great writing about bubbles.

On Thursday, Makayla brought in one of her tadpoles for us to see. We did some writing about it. This tadpole had started to grow its back legs. We also read a book called Watch Me! This book is all about a tadpole turning into a frog. Check out the story!

Next week, we have our Junior Athletics Day here at school. We will be competing in a whole lot of different events. We are all part of a school house. On Athletics Day we can come to school in the colour of our house. Our houses are:

11/03/13 What's Going On in BD Class?

We have had a great start to the week in BD Class. Last Friday, Harry got a special principal's award at school assembly. We are all proud of Harry. Well done!

We also had fun making pet rocks with Mrs Berney. They look ed really cool.

We started off today with writing. We tried really hard to write two ideas by our selves. Caleb tried really hard today and got to show his writing to Mrs Jennings. Great stuff Caleb!

When we did our writing modeling, we did a great job of hearing the sounds in words we didn't know.

At syndicate assembly, Amy and Wade got certificates, and Harry and Madison reached 25 nights reading. 

What a day of celebrating hard work! For news, Olivia shared something really interesting for news. She found part of a swan plant that looks like a swan!

05/03/13 - 06/03/13 What's Going On in BD Class?

We have had an exciting couple of days in BD Class. On Tuesday, Mr D brought in his Big Blue Monster Truck. We all went outside to watch him take it for a spin. The monster truck did some jumps, some crashes and a big jump over Jake from RG Class! You can check it out here:

After watching the monster truck show we did some cool writing about what we saw. 

Madison got to show her monster truck story to Mrs Jennings. Well done Madison!

On Wednesday we went off to swimming again. In the afternoon we had Discovery Time. This is where we do a whole lot of different activities. We do things like constructing, drawing, building, colouring in, cutting and folding. This week we were focussing on using our initiative.

For writing today, Rebecca got to show her writing to Mrs Jennings. It is great to see our class trying their best!

04/03/13 What's Going On in BD Class?

It was a a busy start to the week in BD Class today. We kicked off the day with writing. We were trying to write two ideas in our writing to tell people a little bit more about what we got up to on the weekend.

For maths, we started to work in our groups. The "oblongs" and the "circles" were learning about teen numbers and the way that they are made out of 10 and something else. Mr D also introduced us to  new game that we can play on the Mimio.

For our shared book, we will be reading "T-Shirts" by Estelle Corney. Mr D put together another movie book for us. Check it out here.

26/2/13-01/03/13 This Week in BD Class

This week was another busy one. We had swimming as well as working really hard in class. On Tuesday we did some writing about our favourite ice-cream.

On Wednesday we did something really cool for writing. Mr D got a whole lot of ice. We got to look at it, hold it and feel what it was like. We came up with some great ideas for writing.

We talked about what it looked like and felt like. We put our cold hands on each other's cheeks. It was really funny.

Then we did some really great descriptive writing. Mr D was really impressed witht he creative ideas in our class.

We have been having a lot of fun at swimming. Everyone has been trying so hard.
