01/08/11 What's Going On in BD Class?

What a busy day! There were lots of things happening today. We had four new people start school today. Welcome to Tegan, Ella, Sam and Bede. All of these guys have big brothers and sisters at Discovery School.

Bede was our Star of the Day today. The Star of the Day gets to do the weather chart every morning.

We had a powhiri for our new principal Mrs Jennings. Mr D. said he was so impressed with us because we were really good.

We did some printing this morning as well. We are learning to start in the right place and finish on the line.

We did "I Statements" after lunch. This is when we say something nice about someone in the class. It is a really special time of the day.

This afternoon we were all pretty tired so we did some rotations of some of our reading games. We had some people practising on the Mimio too. 

What a cool day! It is going to be a great week!

11/07/11 What's Going On in BD Class

We have been so busy in class over the past week or so. We have been working hard at our reading and writing. We have also been doing some cool science learning. We have been learning about solids and liquids. Here is some of the work we have been doing.

We did some sorting of solids and liquids.

We have been doing some great work for Te Wiki o te Reo Maori. We were learning about parts of the body and how to say them in Maori. Our big buddies helped us make some life-size figures of ourselves. They are really cool.

Last week one of letters of the week was "h" or Harry Hat Man. We had a hat day and dressed up with our cool hats.

Our class is growing fast. We have now got 10 children in our class.

Something for Mum and Dad to enjoy too!

Mr D. gets hungry whenever he watches Master Chef. He thought this was pretty cool!

01/07/11 What's Going On in BD Class?

We are such a busy class. We have been doing some really fun things at school. Our class of three became a class of four with Keelan S. joining our class. We have two boys called Keelan now!

This is Goliath. He is our class lion. The star of the day gets to take Goliath home. He is really cool.
