2010-A Year in BD Class

Hi there everyone...all parents, caregivers, extended family, friends.

It is hard to believe that today is the last day of the year. It still remember all your children at the start of the year. They have grown so much and I am so proud of them all. Your children are such a wonderful bunch of kids. I have enjoyed every minute of my time with them.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for all your support this year. It makes my job so much easier when I have such wonderful supportive parents.

Have a wonderful Christmas and prosperous New Year.
All the best and God bless.

Mr D
Here is our year in 3 minutes and 49 seconds.
And here's one for all you grown ups too.
I bet you're glad you weren't playing a game here!

15/12/10 What's Going On in BD Class?

Today was a day of mixed emotions. We had a nice cruisy day with Mrs Stewart. We were doing all sorts of fun Christmas games. We also had swimming which was lots of fun. Ally and Sandra have been AWESOME! It was exciting as well because we got to meet our new teachers for next year. It was a bit funny for Mr D because he won't have a class to start the year because he will be helping Mr Kelly before he leaves, and then we WILL BE Mr Kelly (or Mr D really) until we get a new principal. It was also a sad day because we said farewell to Mrs Francis at a poroporoaki this afternoon. Tomorrow will be our last day together so we want to make it a great one!

14/12/10 What's Going On in BD Class?

It was nice to see Mr D again today. He was busy with a planning meeting yesterday. This morning we got all of our art stuff sorted out. Before we took everything off the walls, Tasha suggested we take some photos so that we remember what it all looked like. So here we go:

We had some cool choosing time after morning te instead of outdoor games. It was fun chilling with our friends in other classrooms. We had a yummy iceblock too. Yum! After lunch we handed out all of our work then we had a special Poroporoaki practise. It is a full-on swimming day tomorrow as well.

07/12/10 What's Going On in BD Class?

Robert and Eddie were funny this morning because they were pretending to be rappers again. They were a little bit hard to understand. This week were are doing lots of Letterland work. Today we looked at some vowels that make an "i" sound.

We talked about a special rule. Words that end in a "y" making an "i" sound change when you add "s" or "d". Mister I and Mr E appear. So: spy becomes spied or spies. Tricky eh?
We did some more work on our trolls. We did some descriptive writing about our trolls. We tried to use more interesting words and tried using similes. See if you can find a simile in this description.

06/12/10 What's Going On in BD Class?

This morning we went for a walk around the school to see all the cool things that have been happening with the gardens. They are looking great! The playground has been prepared for painting as well.

Mr D shared some writing about getting a christmas tree. It was quite funny becaue he made a mess of the car.

03/12/10 What's Going On in BD Class?

It has been a pretty crazy week in BD Class. But it has been lots of fun too. We started swimming this week and everyone has improved so much already. Mrs Stewart has been in for us for a couple of days. We did some Santa letters and some more work on fractions too. On Friday we checked out the new "forest" outside BL Class' room. The kids from resolution syndicate have been making our gardens better.
On Friday we also had a special fundraising day for the Pike River miners' families. There were pictures of all the miners on the flagpole and a special coin trail in the shape of a candle.
To finish off the afternoon we had some fun doing some stuff on KidPix.What a cool week!
